01Visiting the website

The site runs on Vercel (Vercel Inc., USA). As with every web server, technical data is generated: IP address, time, requested address and browser. Vercel needs it for operation and security and keeps it only briefly.

02My own visitor statistics

I count visits myself, without Google Analytics and without cookies. For each visit I store:

I don’t store the IP address itself. Nobody can be personally identified from the statistics.

03Chat

If you write to me via the coffee chat, I store your messages and, if you provide it, your email address. The messages reach me in Telegram (Telegram Messenger, servers worldwide) so I can reply on the go. I only use your email address to let you know when I’ve replied.

A cookie (ob_chat_session, 30 days) remembers which conversation belongs to you. It only contains a random number.

04Shop window and orders

For an order I need your name, email address and, for shipping, your postal address. I use them to process the order and send you the confirmation. Payment is made with TWINT; the terms of TWINT and your bank apply. I keep order data for as long as legal obligations require.

05Requests via the form

If you request a format (Coffee Session, Intro Package etc.), you send me your name, email address, your message and, if you like, your phone number and where you currently stand (idea, problem, project). The request reaches me by email and in Telegram, and you get a short confirmation by email. I only use the information to reply to you and discuss working together.

06Pinboard (sticky notes)

Via the QR code on the window you can write a sticky note for the pinboard, with text, colour and optionally your name and a photo. The photo is already reduced in your browser, which removes details such as the location where it was taken. I see every note first (in Telegram); only after I approve it does it appear on the screen in the shop window, i.e. publicly visible. If you want one removed, just send an email to mail@officebaden.ch.

07Emails

I send notifications and order confirmations via my mailbox at easyname (easyname GmbH, Austria), where the officebaden.ch addresses are hosted. If you email me, your message ends up there too.

08Database

Chat, orders, shop window and statistics are stored in a database at Supabase (Supabase Inc., USA). Only this site’s server has access.

09Fonts and weather

The fonts come from Google Fonts (Google LLC, USA). Your browser loads them directly from there, and Google receives your IP address in the process.

The sky on the home page shows the current weather in Baden. Your browser fetches it from Open-Meteo (Switzerland), without any personal information about you.

If you hover over the little plane at the entrance, your browser loads the next train connections from Baden to Zurich Airport from transport.opendata.ch (Opendata.ch, Switzerland), also without any personal information about you.

10Stored in your browser

A few settings stay only in your browser (local storage) and never reach me: how often you’ve visited (for the greeting), the chosen colour scheme and the most recently loaded weather. You can delete them at any time in your browser settings.

11Data abroad

Some of the services mentioned are based in the USA or run servers worldwide. The transfer is based on the Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, otherwise on the EU Commission’s standard contractual clauses recognised by the Federal Data Protection Commissioner.

12Your rights

You can ask at any time what data I hold about you and request that I correct or delete it, for example a chat history. A short email to mail@officebaden.ch is enough. If you think I’m doing something wrong, you can complain to the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) .
